Oscar nominee Toni Collette will star in Apple TV’s Lenni, based on the Norwegian series Pernille. The cast will also include Oscar nominee Ciarán Hinds (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), Dan Wyllie (Love My Way), Josh McKenzie (La Brea), Celeste Barber (The Letdown), Genevieve Hegney (Colin From Accounts), Arka Das (The Airport Chaplain), and Wayne Blair (Total Control).

“Lenni is a darkly comedic mystery about family—what it means to have one, to lose one, to pull one apart,” reads Apple TV’s synopsis. “Lenni, a child welfare worker and divorced mother of two, spends her days fighting for other people’s families while her own is in a constant state of hilarious chaos. The season follows Lenni through a new case, where the stakes couldn’t be higher as her work and personal life collide.”

Sarah Scheller (The Letdown) adapted Henriette Steenstrup’s Pernille and Emmy winner Dearbhla Walsh (Bad Sisters) will direct. Toni Collette, Dearbhla Walsh, Sarah Scheller, Henriette Steenstrup, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Katie Amos, Avi Nir, and Keren Shahar are serving as executive producers. Additional executive producers include Bård Fjulsrud and Tanya Badendyck. The series is produced by Made Up Stories and Keshet International.

Lenni is currently in production in Sydney, Australia.
