The teaser for the fourth and final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon shows the first clip of Emmy winner Jimmy Smits, who joined the final season as Captain Alejandro Perkins. Season three premiered in September 2025, and the final season will arrive in 2027.
Norman Reedus returns to star in the titular role, and Melissa McBride reprises her role as Carol. Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta, and Hugo Arbués also star in season four.
“In the final season, while crossing the ravaged badlands of Spain, Daryl (Reedus) and Carol (McBride) grasp onto hope – and each other – as uncertainty about their future grows,” reads AMC+’s synopsis. “Smits plays Captain Alejandro Perkins, a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor who found a unique way to thrive during the apocalypse.”
David Zabel guides the series as showrunner. Zabel, Reedus, McBride, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival, and Steve Squillante serve as executive producers.
