It’s official – XO, Kitty has been renewed for season two. Netflix’s spinoff of the popular To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before films debuted in May 2023 and immediately took over the #2 spot on the most popular English TV list.

XO, Kitty takes place in the same universe as To All the Boys, but it’s very much its own world. So fresh audiences can love it and then go back and watch the movies and read the books if they want,” said co-showrunner Sascha Rothchild in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum.

According to Netflix, the spinoff starring Anna Cathcart as Kitty Song Covey has racked up 72.1 million hours of viewing. In addition to Cathcart, the first-season stars Minyeong Choi as Dae, Gia Kim as Yuri, Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho, Anthony Keyvan as Q, and Peter Thurnwald as Alex. The large ensemble also includes Yunjin Kim as Jina, Sarayu Blue as Trina, John Corbett as Dan Covey, Michael K Lee as Professor Lee, Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison, Théo Augier as Florian, and Regan Aliyah as Juliana.

Jenny Han created the series and is the co-showrunner. Han, Rothchild, and ACE Entertainment’s Matt Kaplan serve as executive producers.

Season one consists of 10 episodes, but Netflix hasn’t confirmed any specific details on season two. The first season earned an 82% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics calling it charming, sweet, and entertaining.
