This could be a winner for Comedy Central. The network announced they’ll be debuting an eight episode first season of Drunk History this summer, based on the super popular web series. The web series found big-name actors involved in the retelling of history from an inebriated point of view.
Comedy Central’s Head of Original Programming and Production Ken Alterman revealed the pickup of the series which was created by Derek Waters. Waters and Will Ferrell and Adam McKay of Gary Sanchez Productions will executive produce.
“As they always say…history, like revenge, is a dish best served drunk,” stated Alterman.
“Will and I have always believed booze brings out truth. Sometimes that truth involves hitting on airport bar janitors or eating cheese fries at 4 a.m. But in this case, we hope that truth will shine on our nation’s history,” added McKay.
