Theo James will be donning vampire teeth again to reprise his role as David in the reboot of the Underworld franchise. James’ character will be central to the sequel, so says The Hollywood Reporter. However, there’s no word on whether any other supporting players will return (Variety says series star Kate Beckinsale won’t be back). Cory Goodman (Priest, The Last Witch Hunter) is working on the script and Lakeshore’s aiming for a 2015 release.

James’ character David was introduced in the 2012 Underworld movie, Underworld: Awakening.

The Underworld franchise kicked off in 2003 with Len Wiseman at the helm and his future wife Kate Beckinsale as the leather-clad vampire Death Dealer Selene. Beckinsale and Wiseman returned for the sequel Underworld: Evolution which followed in 2006. Then came Underworld: Rise of the Lycans in 2009 without Beckinsale in the lead and without Wiseman at the helm. The fourth film of series, Underworld: Awakening, brought Beckinsale back to head up the cast.

James was most recently seen on the big screen opposite Shailene Woodley in the Divergent film franchise. His other film credits include London Fields and The Inbetweeners Movie. He’s also appeared in the TV shows Downton Abbey, Bedlam, Room at the Top, and Golden Boy.
