The Screen Actors Guild Awards held on January 29, 2017 managed to pull off a few surprises including a win for Denzel Washington in a category most thought would go to Casey Affleck, two acting wins for The Crown, only one for The People v. O.J. Simpson, and Stranger Things pulling off an upset against Game of Thrones, Westworld, Downton Abbey, and The Crown. Most of this year’s SAG Awards winners used part of their allotted time on stage to call out President Trump, and Stranger Things‘ David Harbour delivered a speech that will go down in SAG history as one of the awards show’s best.
The SAG Awards are voted on by the 121,546 members of SAG-AFTRA.
