Netflix’s Cursed is filling out its cast as it begins filming in England and Wales. The series has Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why, Love, Simon) in the lead role and series creators Frank Miller (Sin City, 300) and Tom Wheeler (Puss in Boots, The Cape) on board as executive producers. Miller and Wheeler are also working on a companion book (Wheeler is writing, Miller is illustrating) to be published this fall.

The just announced new cast members include Devon Terrell (Barry), Gustaf Skarsgård (Westworld, Vikings), Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead, Medici), and Peter Mullan (Ozark). Lily Newmark (Pin Cushion), Shalom Brune-Franklin (The State, Our Girl), Sebastian Armesto (Poldark, Broadchurch), Emily Coates (Flack), Catherine Walker (Versailles, The Delinquent Season) and Billy Jenkins (The Crown, Holmes & Watson) have also joined the Cursed cast.

According to Netflix, season one of the series will consist of 10 episodes.

Zetna Fuentes (Ray Donovan, Jessica Jones, The Deuce, Shameless) is executive producing the first two episodes and is set to direct episodes one and two. Co-creator Wheeler is the first season showrunner and writer. Alex Boden (Sense8, Cloud Atlas) is serving as a producer and Silenn Thomas is a co-executive producer.

The Plot:

“Based on the upcoming book of the same name, Cursed is a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.”
