Spike TV Announces the Video Game Awards Nominees


Samuel L Jackson Hosts the VGA TenI haven’t played a single one however millions have and, according to Spike TV, the following nominees represent the best of the best. The VGA Ten hosted by Samuel L Jackson and featuring musical performances by musical performances by Linkin Park and Tenacious D will air live on December 7, 2012 at 9pm on Spike TV, MTV 2, MTV Tr3s, Xbox LIVE, Spike.com and GameTrailers.com. Linkin Park’s set to perform “Castle of Glass” off of their Living Things album. Tenacious D, making their second appearance, will perform “Rize of the Fenix.”
“Borderlands 2,” “Halo 4” and “Journey” lead the pack of 2012 Video Game Awards nominees with seven nominations a piece. Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed III” collected six nominations and “Dishonored,” EA’s “Mass Effect 3,” and Telltale Games’ “The Walking Dead: The Game” followed close behind with five each.
Per Spike TV: “Nominees for Spike TV’s VGA TEN were determined by the VGA Advisory Council, made up of a group of some of the most well-respected video game journalists from media outlets such as Entertainment Weekly, Game Informer, Joystiq, Kotaku, Polygon, IGN, GameTrailers, Gamespot, Wired.com, USA Today and Associated Press.”
