Hugh Jackman brought the energy, Neil Patrick Harris performed one of the most rousing numbers of the night, and Audra McDonald set two impressive records at the 2014 Tony Awards held on June 8, 2014. McDonald made Tony history by collecting her sixth Tony Award, making her the most decorated actress in the history of the Tony Awards. McDonald also became the first performer to win a Tony in each of the four acting categories.
Another big winner at the 68th annual Tony Awards, in an evening which saw voters spread the wealth among a variety of productions, was A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder. A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder earned Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, and Best Costume Design of a Musical Tonys.
