National Association of the Deaf and PepsiCo have chosen actress Amber Zion to perform the National Anthem during the pre-game festivities at Super Bowl XLVIII. Soprano Renee Fleming will be singing the National Anthem while Zion will be performing in American Sign Language (ASL). This year’s Super Bowl will be held on February 2nd at MetLife Stadium with Seattle Seahawks representing the NFC and the Denver Broncos representing the AFC.

“The Super Bowl is one of the most-watched events of the year,” said NAD CEO Howard Rosenblum. “Integrating American Sign Language into the performance of the National Anthem during the pregame not only raises awareness of ASL, it also helps to ensure that this iconic event is inclusive for all Americans.”
