Jamie Foxx Earns MTV’s Generation Award

Jamie Foxx is this year’s MTV Generation Award winner and will be picking up the honor at the MTV Movie Awards on April 14, 2013. Past honorees of the award include Johnny Depp, Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise, and Jim Carrey.

Besides the Generation Award, Foxx could be taking home up to four other ‘golden popcorn’ trophies. He’s nominated this year in the “Best Male Performance,” “Best Fight,” “Best Kiss,” and “Best WTF Moment” for his performance in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

“As a comedian, Academy Award-winning actor, and Grammy award-winning artist, Jamie Foxx is a triple threat superstar unlike any we’ve seen in a long time,” said Stephen Friedman, President of MTV. “Jamie has captivated audiences for nearly two decades with a dizzying array of memorable performances, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate him at this year’s Movie Awards.”

Rebel Wilson’s hosting the show which airs on MTV at 9pm ET/PT. Confirmed to present are Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, Melissa McCarthy, Zac Efron, Kerry Washington, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Amanda Seyfried, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto and Kim Kardashian.
