Sincerely, Your Murderer Synopsis:

It’s been one year and six days since seventeen-year-old Kay left her sleepy hometown after the devastating death of her best friend, Ivy. But now she’s back, forced to stay with her cousin as her parents jet off to a holiday without her. She was hoping for a quiet week of boredom and memories, but what actually greets her is a terrifying anonymous letter left on her bed.

The note tells her that there will be a thrill on Tuesday, a wreckage on Wednesday, treachery on Thursday, a fire on Friday, sabotage on Saturday, a stabbing on Sunday…and her murder on Monday.

As the events threatened in the letter start to happen, Kay knows she has to figure out who her would-be murderer is before they can follow through on their twisted promise and make the worst day of the week a deadly one.

Sincerely, Your Murderer Review:

Sincerely, Your Murderer is a YA murder mystery that definitely keeps you guessing from page one to the book’s final twist. Kay thought she had left the life she knew behind after losing her favorite person – her aunt. But even before her aunt passed, Kay was already heartbroken over the sudden death of her best friend, Ivy. Though Ivy’s passing was officially ruled an accident, Kay and those closest to her have never believed that story. Now, with her cousin and a loyal friend at her side, Kay finds herself drawn into the mystery surrounding Ivy’s death – and her own potential murder. Because unless she can unmask the person who’s sending her anonymous, threatening letters, Monday will be her last day.

This story was a fast-paced read that kept me hooked as I tried to figure out ‘whodunit’ right along with Kay. But, once again, my detective skills failed me. I was nowhere near identifying the sender of those chilling notes. I wasn’t even close. Honestly, I quite enjoy it when an author manages to keep me in the dark. It means they’ve done a good job of providing just enough clues to keep me engaged, without spoiling the ending.

There were parts that got a bit repetitive, but that may just be the author’s way of making sure the reader remembers all the clues or facts that Kay uncovers. And just when you think you’ve pieced it all together – trust me, you haven’t. Overall, Sincerely, Your Murderer is a fascinating, suspenseful read. It’s great any time of year, but especially perfect for diving into during the spookiest season.
