50/50 was written by Will Reiser and is inspired by his own diagnosis with a spinal tumor. The film stars Seth Rogen, one of Reiser’s friends who supported Reiser through his battle with cancer.
The cast also includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Adam, Anna Kendrick as Katherine, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Rachael. Angelica Huston stars as Diane, Serge Houde is Richard, Philip Baker Hall is Alan, and Matt Frewer plays Mitch.
Jonathan Levine directed the comedy/drama which is heading to theaters on September 30, 2011. The MPAA has rated 50/50 R for language throughout, sexual content, and some drug use.
