Alexandre Aja has made a name for himself in horror with the French movie High Tension and American films The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors and Piranha 3D. His latest movie is Horns starring Daniel Radcliffe and Juno Temple, and based on the novel by Joe Hill. Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, a man accused of his girlfriend (Juno Temple)’s murder, who not only sprouts horns but gains the power to hear people’s darkest confessions. It’s a dark film and definitely not Harry Potter.
Aja seemed genuinely excited to see me again. We had met for interviews for Hill, Mirrors and Piranha, the latter two at previous Comic-Cons. I’d already gotten to see Horns at the Toronto International Film Festival so I had really specific questions. Aja is next developing a Starz TV series based on the film Scanners, so as Franchise Fred I had some specific questions about that too. Horns is out this Halloween, October 31.
