The love story between Stephen Hawking and Jane Wilde comes to life on the big screen in Focus Features’ The Theory of Everything, heading to theaters during this upcoming awards season. Directed by Oscar winner James Marsh (Man on Wire), The Theory of Everything starring Eddie Redmayne as Hawking and Felicity Jones as Wilde will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7th. The film will begin its theatrical run in select theaters on November 7, 2014.
The cast also includes Charlie Cox, Emily Watson, Simon McBurney, and David Thewlis.
The Plot:
This is the extraordinary story of one of the world’s greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed.
