‘Bird Box’ Trailer: Sandra Bullock Stars in the Netflix Thriller

Oscar winning director Susanne Bier (Best Foreign Language Film for In a Better World) teams up with Oscar winner Sandra Bullock (Best Actress, The Blind Side) on the thriller Bird Box. Netflix has released a new full trailer for the drama along with a powerful poster and new photos featuring Bullock as a mom protecting her young kids by making sure they don’t see the monsters surrounding them. (Think A Quiet Place with sight substituting for sound.)

The cast also includes Trevante Rhodes (The Predator), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story anthology), and John Malkovich (Mile 22). Jacki Weaver (Blunt Talk), Rosa Salazar (Maze Runner: The Death Cure), Danielle Macdonald (Patty Cake$), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Tom Hollander (Bohemian Rhapsody), Colson Baker (Roadies), and BD Wong (Mr. Robot) are also featured in the 2018 release.

Eric Heisserer wrote the script and Dylan Clark, Chris Morgan, and Clayton Townsend produced. The behind the scenes team includes director of photography Salvatore Totino, editor Ben Lester, production designer Jan Roelfs, and costume designer Signe Sejlund.

Bird Box will premiere on Netflix and in limited theaters on December 21, 2018.

The Bird Box Plot:

“When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life. Facing the unknown, Malorie finds love, hope and a new beginning only for it to unravel. Now she must flee with her two children down a treacherous river to the one place left that may offer sanctuary. But to survive, they’ll have to undertake the perilous two-day journey blindfolded.”
