‘Bridge of Spies’ Unveils a New Trailer with Tom Hanks

Why hasn’t there been more buzz about Bridge of Spies? We’re just a month away from its theatrical release and there hasn’t been any news about this thriller written by Matt Charman and Ethan Coen & Joel Coen, directed by Steven Spielberg, and starring Spielberg’s frequent collaborator, Tom Hanks.

The first trailer dropped back in June and a new trailer has finally arrived for the DreamWorks Pictures/Fox 2000 Pictures release which is set to open on October 16, 2015. Bridge of Spies looks like the sort of film that has “potential Oscar contender” written all over it, yet it seems to be taking a fly-under-the-radar approach to opening in theaters.

In addition to Hanks, the cast of Bridge of Spies includes Mark Rylance, Scott Shepherd, Amy Ryan, Sebastian Koch and Alan Alda.

The Plot: A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, Bridge of Spies is the story of James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot.
