‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Teaser Shows Anthony Mackie in Action

President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford) wants to make Captain America (Anthony Mackie) an official military position, and asks that Sam agree to work with him in the first teaser trailer for Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World. Of course, not long after making the request, Ross is the target of an assassin. Chaos erupts, lines are drawn, and Ross tosses out, “You may be Captain America, but you’re not Steve Rogers.

Sam replies, “You’re right. I’m not.”

Marvel’s minute-and-a-half teaser was accompanied by a new poster and four stills from the trailer.

“After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident,” reads Marvel Studios’ synopsis. “He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”

In addition to Mackie (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier) and Ford (1923), the cast includes Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson. Julius Onah directs Mackie’s first feature as Captain America, with Kevin Feige and Nate Moore producing. Executive producers include Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth.

Captain America: Brave New World opens in theaters on February 14, 2025.
