Disney offers a peek behind the scenes at the upcoming live-action adventure film, Christopher Robin, with a new minute and a half video featuring Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, songwriter Richard M. Sherman, and director Marc Forster. In the new video, Ewan McGregor shares that he’s excited to be involved in this new take on the classic Winnie the Pooh tale.
McGregor, most recently seen playing twins in FX’s critically acclaimed Fargo, thinks audiences will be charmed by the film. “We’ll come out the better for it having seen it, I think.”
“Winnie the Pooh comes back to him at a difficult time in his life,” explains McGregor who plays the title role. “He sort of speaks a lot of truth – Pooh.”
“These are the characters that my generation, my parents’ generation, and now this generation are growing up with,” says Hayley Atwell. She adds, “This is a charming story of a man finding his home again and finding that inner child.”
The short video arrived the same day Disney opened advance ticket sales for Christopher Robin. The film will be released in theaters on August 3, 2018.
The live-action cast includes Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin, Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) as his wife Evelyn; Bronte Carmichael (Darkest Hour) as his daughter Madeline; and Mark Gatiss (Game of Thrones) as Keith Winslow, Robin’s boss.
