Descendants: Wicked Wonderland Teaser Sets Premiere Date, Adds Awkwafina

Disney Channel just dropped a new teaser for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland and confirmed the latest entry in the popular fairy tale musical franchise will premiere on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Disney also revealed Awkwafina has joined the cast, voicing Chessy the Cat.

Kylie Cantrall returns as Red, Malia Baker is back as Chloe, Leonardo Nam returns as Maddox Hatter, and Melanie Paxson reprises her role as Fairy Godmother. Paolo Montalban is King Charming, Rita Ora is the Queen of Hearts, Brandy is Cinderella, Liamani Segura is Pink, Brendon Tremblay is Max Hatter, and Alexandro Byrd is Luis Madrigal.

Rounding out the ensemble are Kiara Romero as Hazel Hook, Joel Oulette as Robbie Hood, Zavien Garrett as Felix Facilier, Ryan McEwen as Squirmy Smee, and Dayton Paradis as Squeaky Smee.

“Now that the Queen of Hearts is nice and Cinderella is safe, things seem perfect for Red and Chloe … but little do they know that changing the past created a new villain: Maddox Hatter,” reads Disney Channel’s synopsis. “When Maddox captures the Queen of Hearts, Red and Chloe must work with Red’s new sister Pink, Luisa Madrigal’s son Luis, Captain Hook’s daughter Hazel, and Maddox’s son Max to save her and Wonderland.

The teaser follows Red and Chloe as they’re pulled into the shifting dynamics of the new characters and uncover unexpected alliances and hidden threats. As loyalties blur, the two are forced to face who stands with them and against them.”

Muppets Mayhem‘s Kimmy Gatewood directed the musical, and Tamara Chestna, Dan Frey, and Ru Sommer wrote the script. Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh serve as executive producers, and Emmy winner Emilio Dosal is the choreographer.
