Devil’s Mile Debuts a Poster and Gets a Distribution Deal

Writer/director Joseph O’Brien’s horror/crime/thriller Devil’s Mile has a new poster to show off as well as news on a distributor. Phase 4 has picked up the film’s North American distribution rights and plans to roll it to audiences this summer. As for the new poster, it was illustrated by artist Justin Erickson who’s also responsible for Godzilla‘s engaging poster.

“I was so thrilled to have Justin on board – I’ve been a fan of his art for ages – and I knew he’d do a great job. But when I saw what he had come up with, I was blown away,” says director O’Brien. “He captured the atmosphere and starkness of the film in a way that was very striking, original and – and I mean this in the best possible terms – not at all what I had expected. It was fresh and surprising and I can’t wait to show it to people … and have it up on my office wall!”

Devil’s Mile really stands out as a successful mix of great characters, supernatural atmosphere, and crazy effects scares,” says WTF’s Greg Chamblet who’ll be representing the film at the Berlin Film Market. “It gels incredibly well together and it always surprises.”

“It’s a film we’re all extremely proud of, and it’s incredibly satisfying to be able to present it to the world,” says Devil’s Mile executive producer Mark Opausky. “ We couldn’t ask for better partners in Phase 4 and WTF to bring Devil’s Mile to audiences, or for a more evocative and eye-catching poster to lead the charge.”

The Plot of Devil’s Mile:

A relentlessly-paced hybrid of gritty crime thriller and supernatural horror, Devil’s Mile follows a trio of kidnappers who take an ill-advised detour en route to deliver their hostages — two teenage girls — to their mysterious and powerful employer. When they accidentally kill one of the girls during a botched escape attempt, their simmering mistrust explodes into shocking violence. But what they thought was their worst case scenario is only the beginning, as they are engulfed by the hellish forces that haunt the road — a road they realize they may never escape. Now captors and captive must fight together to escape the monstrous forces pursuing them and somehow survive Devil’s Mile.
