‘Extinction’ Trailer and Poster: Aliens Attack Earth in Netflix’s Sci-Fi Thriller

Life is just work, home, and family day in and day out until suddenly it’s not in the sci-fi horror film, Extinction. A loving husband and father suffers from terrifying invasive visions of impending doom, but he can’t discuss what he sees as he’s aware everyone will assume he’s crazy. The two and a half minute trailer reveals he’s definitely not insane and there are alien forces ready to destroy Earth.

Netflix’s Extinction was directed by Ben Young (Hounds of Love) from a screenplay by Spenser Cohen. The cast includes Michael Pena (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Israel Broussard (Happy Death Day), Emma Booth (Once Upon a Time), and Tom Riley (Da Vinci’s Demons). Todd Lieberman, Alex Young, and David Hoberman served as producers.

The behind the scenes team includes director of photography Pedro Luque, editor Matthew Ramsey, and production designer Alan Gilmore.

Extinction will premiere on Netflix on July 27, 2018.

The Plot: A working class father of the future faces recurring dreams of destruction by an unknown force. When his unwanted nightmares begin to affect his relationship with his family, he soon realizes they may be the key to a horrible reality, as a relentless alien attack begins to destroy the Earth. As the invaders’ assault progresses, he is forced to find both the strength to protect his family and an understanding of who he truly is.
