‘The Originals’ Season 5 Episode 11 Preview and Photos: ‘Til the Day I Die

The CW’s The Originals season five episde 10 found Klaus sticking by Hope’s side and helping ease her torment. Josh gave his life to rescue Marcel, Declan was convinced he was going crazy, and Vincent led the witches in releasing their ancestors from the Ancestral Well. They were living in horror and with their freedom, the witches’ powers will change and come directly from the earth.

Elijah continued to try and make amends with Hope and Klaus, offering them the perfect outlet for Hope’s rage. Klaus and Antoinette gathered Greta’s followers under the pretense they were going to war. Instead, it was a trap set up to allow Hope, Klaus, and Marcel to wipe out Greta’s disiples. “Go on, sweetheart. Let it all out,” urged Klaus. Hope didn’t need any assistance as she killed the group with a might roar after Antoinette and Klaus made their exit. Unfortunately, no one knew Declan and a priest were upstairs. Declan was injured in Hope’s magical blast and the priest (an innocent) was killed, triggering the curse.

Antoinette and Klaus said their goodbyes after asking each other forgiveness for the past actions of their families. In an incredibly moving scene, Vincent said his final goodbye to Ivy who died knowing she was going to see her father in the afterlife. And speaking of the afterlife, Josh was reunited with his soulmate, the love of his life, Aiden, on the other side.

The “‘Til the Day I Die” Plot: WEDDING DAY — Klaus (Morgan) turns to Davina (guest star Danielle Campbell) for help to learn more about a mysterious affliction affecting Hope (Russell). On their wedding day, Freya (Voelkel) and Keelin (guest star Christina Moses) make a tough decision about their future together, while Elijah (Gillies) is forced to confront a past memory of Hayley. Finally, Declan’s (guest star Torrance Coombs) growing curiosity in the city’s supernatural secrets forces Marcel (Davis) to step in.

The Season 5 Plot: The final season of The Originals begins seven years after the core members of the Mikaelson family – Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah and Kol — each absorb a quarter of the Hollow’s dark energy and flee New Orleans in order to keep both their beloved city and young Hope (guest star Summer Fontana) safe. In the interim, Vincent and Josh preside over a Big Easy almost devoid of conflict, while Hayley and Freya watch Hope grow into a teenager, eventually opting to send her to the Salvatore School so that Caroline can keep an eye on her.

With Marcel following Rebekah out of town and Elijah stripped of his memory, the danger seems to be contained… until a sudden tragedy forces the siblings to return home. As the Mikaelsons return to New Orleans, bringing the pieces of a centuries old evil with them, it becomes clear that the closing chapter of this family saga will be as bloody and emotional as ever.
