‘Fahrenheit 451’ Starring Michael B Jordan, Michael Shannon Debuts a Teaser Trailer

HBO Films hasn’t set a premiere date for the latest adaptation of Fahrenheit 451, however they have released a teaser trailer teasing a spring debut. Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes) and Amir Naderi (Vegas: Based on a True Story) adapted Ray Bradbury’s bestselling novel for the screen, with Bahrani directing and executive producing. Sarah Green, Michael B. Jordan, Alan Gasmer, and Peter Jaysen were also involved as executive producers on the sci-fi thriller.

Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed, Fruitvale Station), Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water, Boardwalk Empire, Nocturnal Animals, Revolutionary Road), Sofia Boutella (The Mummy, Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Lilly Singh (Bad Moms, YouTube’s Superwoman) star in Fahrenheit 451 which recently wrapped up production in Toronto. Kramer Morgenthau was the director of photography, Mark Digby was the production designer, Meghan Kasperlik served as costume designer, and Alex Hall edited the timely drama. Matteo Zingales and Antony Partos collaborated with writer/director Ramin Bahrani as the film’s composers.

“I have always loved Ray Bradbury’s prophetic novel Fahrenheit 451,” said Bahrani. “Two years ago, as I looked at the world around me, it seemed like the ideal time to do a modern interpretation. I am grateful to HBO for helping me bring my vision of the film to audiences with this incredible cast.”

The Plot and Characters: Fahrenheit 451 is based on Ray Bradbury’s classic novel of the same name, depicting a future where the media is an opiate, history is rewritten and “firemen” burn books. Jordan portrays Montag, a young fireman who forsakes his world and struggles to regain his humanity as he battles his mentor, fire captain Beatty, played by Shannon. Sofia Boutella stars as Clarisse, an informant caught between the competing interests of Montag and Beatty. The cast also includes Lilly Singh as Raven, a tabloid reporter who works with the fire department to spread the ministry’s propaganda by broadcasting its book-burning raids to fans.
