Palme d’Or Winner ‘Fjord’ Trailer Starring Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve

Neon’s official trailer for Fjord, a Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner, introduces a couple who move with their children to a small town only to have their parenting skills questioned amid abuse allegations. Neon’s set an October 9, 2026 theatrical release for the festival favorite that currently sits at 90% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

An unrecognizable Sebastian Stan stars alongside Oscar nominee Renate Reinsve. The cast also includes Lisa Carlehed, Ellen Dorrit Petersen, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Henrikke Lund-Olsen, and Vanessa Cebane.

Neon’s synopsis reads, “A Norwegian woman and her devout Romanian husband relocate with their five children to a remote, close-knit coastal town. Their teenage children form a fast bond with a neighboring family as unease begins to simmer around their rigid beliefs. When allegations of abuse emerge, they are forced to confront a system of judgement that blurs the lines between concern and prejudice.”

Speaking at a press conference following the film’s Palme d’Or win, writer/director Cristian Mungiu said, “It’s important to understand that there is no single truth and that we can survive and live alongside others, even if we do not share the same values. Even if we may be convinced that our values are the best, I do not believe we have the right to impose them on others.
Without engaging in this dialogue, we’re going to see high levels of social violence. And this isn’t for our sake — since we’re older — but for our children.”
