Ghostbusters: Afterlife Unveils Its First Trailer and Poster

With the line, “There hasn’t been a ghost sighting in 30 years,” the first official trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife confirms this film has absolutely nothing to do with the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot/remake. Instead, the 2020 release will be paying tribute to the original Ghostbusters through the introduction of the grandchildren of an original Ghostbuster.

This latest entry in the Ghostbusters franchise comes from original director Ivan Reitman. Reitman’s involved as a producer and Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd executive produces. Ivan’s son, Jason Reitman (Up in the Air, The Front Runner), directs and co-wrote the script with executive producer Gil Kenan. Michael Beugg and Jason Blumenfeld also executive produce.

The cast includes Carrie Coon (The Sinner), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Mckenna Grace (Fuller House), and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man).

Sony Pictures has set a July 10, 2020 theatrical release date.
