‘Haunted Mansion’ Teaser Trailer: Home is Where the Haunt Is

20 years after Disney released Haunted Mansion starring Eddie Murphy, the Mouse House is at it again with a new comedy inspired by the popular theme park ride. 2003’s PG-rated family-friendly film rang up $24 million over its opening weekend and grossed $182 million worldwide before exiting theaters. The first teaser trailer for the 2023 version confirms it’s also targeting families and is going for the comically creepy adventure vibe.

2023’s Haunted Mansion stars LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon, and Dan Levy. Jamie Lee Curtis is Madame Leota and Jared Leto pops in as The Hatbox Ghost.

Justin Simien (Dear White People, Bad Hair) directs and Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich serve as producers. Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman executive produce.

“As a lifelong fan of the Haunted Mansion attraction, I’m beyond excited to share the teaser trailer for our new film adaptation featuring an incredible cast. Our team has worked tirelessly to create a scary, funny, and cinematic otherworldly adventure for both new and die-hard fans to enjoy! I can’t wait for audiences to experience this big screen version of the iconic Disney attraction,” said director Simien.

Disney’s targeting a July 28, 2023 theatrical release.

The Plot: Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, Haunted Mansion is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.
