‘Johnny English Strikes Again’ Trailer #2: Rowan Atkinson Experiences Virtual Reality

In the new trailer for Focus Features’ Johnny English Strikes Again, Rowan Atkinson’s bumbling secret agent wreaks havoc on innocent bystanders. He bombs cyclists, beats up a coffee shop patron with baguettes, and pushes a tour guide off the upper deck of a bus all while wearing a virtual reality headset.

In addition to Rowan Atkinson as Johnny English, the cast includes Ben Miller (I Want My Wife Back), Olga Kurylenko (The Death of Stalin), Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks), and Jake Lacy (I’m Dying Up Here).

Johnny English Strikes Again was directed by David Kerr (Inside No. 9) from a script by William Davies (Johnny English, Johnny English Reborn). Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Chris Clark served as producers on the comedy sequel. The behind the scenes team includes director of photography Florian Hoffmeister, production designer Simon Bowles, and editors Tony Cranstoun and Mark Everson.

Focus Features will launch the PG-rated comedy in theaters on October 26, 2018.

The original Johnny English film was released on July 18, 2003 and starred Rowan Atkinson, Ben Miller, and John Malkovich. Johnny English Reborn followed on October 21, 2011, once again with Atkinson in the title role. According to Box Office Mojo, Johnny English grossed $160 million worldwide. Johnny English Reborn also rang up $160 million worldwide during its theatrical run.

The Plot: Rowan Atkinson returns as the much-loved accidental secret agent in Johnny English Strikes Again. When a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active undercover agents in Britain, the country’s only hope is called out of retirement. English’s new mission is his most critical to date: Dive head first into action to find the mastermind hacker. A man with few skills and analogue methods, English must overcome the challenges of modern technology—or his newest mission will become the Secret Service’s last.
