‘Onward’ Teaser Trailer and Poster: Pixar’s 2020 Animated Feature

What film features unicorns raiding trash cans, dragons as exuberant house pets, centaurs jogging around neighborhoods, and elves and trolls working normal everyday jobs? Pixar Animation Studios’ Onward, a 2020 animated feature that just debuted its first teaser trailer, poster, and photos.

The teaser opens with a mermaid diving as the text declares: “In times of old the world was magical. But times change.” That change is revealed as the magical creatures now live in suburbs, drive cars, and hold down jobs. Apparently they also have adventures, with the trailer ending as brothers Ian and Barley take off on a grand and glorious quest.

Onward features the voices of Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep), and Octavia Spencer (The Shape of Water). Dan Scanlon (Monsters University) wrote and directed, with Kori Rai producing.

Pixar’s set a March 6, 2020 theatrical release date.
