‘Searching’ Thriller Releases a New Trailer and Poster

Screen Gems just released the second trailer for the thriller, Searching. The new trailer’s just over a minute long and features John Cho as a dad searching for his missing daughter and coming to realize he knew nothing about her life.

The cast is led by Cho (The Exorcist, the Star Trek film franchise) and includes Debra Messing (Will & Grace, The Mysteries of Laura), Joseph Lee (Lion), and Michelle LA. First-time feature film director Aneesh Chaganty helmed the drama and co-wrote the script with Sev Ohanian.

Timur Bekmambetov, Sev Ohanian, Adam Sidman, and Natalie Qasabian served as producers. The behind the scenes team includes director of photography Juan Sebastian Baron, editors Nicholas D. Johnson and Will Merrick, and production designer Angel Herrera.

Screen Gems is planning an August 3, 2018 theatrical release.

The Plot: After David Kim (John Cho)’s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter’s laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter’s digital footprints before she disappears forever.
