I’m at the “I’ll believe it when I see the film’s title on the marquee of any theater” stage when it comes to Seventh Son. The film was shot back in early 2012 and delayed a few times, and then Legendary moved from partnering on releases with Warner Bros to a deal with Universal Pictures which also affected its release date. Hopefully, Seventh Son will finally get its theatrical release on February 6, 2015 and in support of its long-delayed release Legendary’s unveiled a new poster along with a brand new trailer.
Directed by Sergei Bodrov and based on the books by Joseph Delaney, the Seventh Son cast includes Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes and Julianne Moore.
The Plot:
In a time of enchantments when legends and magic collide, the sole remaining warrior of a mystical order (Bridges) travels to find a prophesized hero born with incredible powers, the last Seventh Son (Barnes). Torn from his quiet life as a farmhand, the unlikely young hero embarks on a daring adventure with his battle-hardened mentor to vanquish a dark queen (Moore) and the army of supernatural assassins she has dispatched against their kingdom.
