‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Trailer Arrives with Additional Cast Details

The first official full trailer’s arrived for Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse produced by The LEGO Movie and 21 Jump Street‘s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. In addition to releasing the lengthy trailer, Sony Pictures Animation confirmed the supporting cast members as well as the characters they’re voicing.

Shameik Moore leads the cast as Miles Morales. Joining him are Jake Johnson as Miles’ reluctant mentor, Peter Parker, and Liev Schreiber who takes on the role of voicing the larger-than-life crime lord, Kingpin. Hailee Steinfeld provides the voice of the spunky, free-spirited Spider-Gwen. Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali lends his voice to the character of Miles’ influential uncle, Aaron. Rounding out the voice cast are Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’ father, Jefferson; Luna Lauren Velez as Miles’ mother, Rio; and Lily Tomlin as Aunt May.

“We are lucky to have such an amazing cast of funny, genuine creative souls to populate the Spider-verse,” said producers Christopher Miller and Phil Lord. “They have generous minds and great big hearts. And they have very talented throats. Which is where their delightful voices come from.”

Miller and Lord added, “We can’t wait for the world to see Miles Morales on the big screen. He’s such a fun and exciting new character, and telling his story through a revolutionary visual style makes for a totally fresh cinematic experience that, if we may say so, is freaking amazing.”

The new Spidey film is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman. Phil Lord wrote the screenplay and Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, and Christina Steinberg serve as producers.

The Plot: Phil Lord and Christopher Miller bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
