‘Talk to Me’ Horror Hit Chats Up a Sequel

Talk to Me 2

A24’s Talk to Me left the door open for more incredibly creepy tales of a severed hand that can be used to conjure spirits. Following the R-rated indie horror/thriller’s impressive opening, A24 is walking through that door and summoning up a sequel.

Directors Danny and Michael Philippou are confirmed to return to helm the follow-up, with Talk to Me‘s screenwriters Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman also on board to write the sequel.

A24’s sequel announcement did not include any plot details or cast news.

Talk to Me opened in theaters on July 28, 2023 and snagged the title for A24’s second-biggest opening weekend. The film stars Sophie Wilde, Miranda Otto, Alexandra Jensen, Joe Bird, Otis Dhanji, Zoe Terakes, and Chris Alosi.

Talk to Me sits at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, with AV Club’s Lauren Coates saying “a devastating script and charismatic cast (spearheaded by Sophie Wilde) make Talk To Me a terrifying and pervasively heartbreaking tale of grief.”

Chicago Tribune’s Michael Phillips says, “Actors as incisive and persuasive as Wilde, Jensen and Bird break your heart a little, while the trials they endure are making that same heart race.”

The Talk to Me Plot:

“When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.”
