‘The Princess’ Trailer: Joey King’s Princess is No Shrinking Violet

The new trailer for 20th Century Studios’ The Princess confirms this isn’t your standard fairy tale love story. This princess isn’t about to go quietly into a marriage with a man she doesn’t love and instead unleashes fury, backed by Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation.”

Joey King (The Act) stars as the fierce princess and Dominic Cooper (That Dirty Black Bag) plays the creep the princess has no intention of marrying. The cast also includes Olga Kurylenko (Black Widow) and Veronica Ngo (The Old Guard).

Le-Van Kiet (Furie) directed from a screenplay by Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton (Winter’s Knight, Final Fantasy). Neal H. Moritz (the Fast and Furious franchise), Toby Jaffe (Total Recall), and Derek Kolstad (John Wick) produce, with Joey King and Guy Riedel (Spectral) executive producing.

The Princess will premiere on July 1, 2022 on Hulu.

20th Century Studios released the following plot description:

“An action-packed fight to the death set in a fairy tale world, The Princess is directed by Le-Van Kiet and stars Emmy Award nominee Joey King as a beautiful, strong-willed princess who refuses to wed the cruel sociopath to whom she is betrothed, and is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower of her father’s castle. With her scorned, vindictive suitor intent on taking her father’s throne, the princess must protect her family and save the kingdom.”
