Sony Pictures Classics released the first official photo of Tom Hiddleston as Country Western star Hank Williams. Hiddleston is playing Williams in I Saw the Light, based on Colin Escott’s Hank Williams: The Biography. Marc Abraham wrote and directs the movie, with Elizabeth Olsen, Cherry Jones, Bradley Whitford, Maddie Hasson, and Wren Schmidt co-starring.
I Saw the Light opens in limited release on November 27, 2015. A wide release will follow.
The Plot:
I Saw the Light, the story of the legendary country western singer Hank Williams, who in his brief life created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music. The film chronicles his meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life.
