Taylor Swift, recently in the news for finally revealing where she stands on politics, and Camila Cabello emerged the big winners at the 2018 American Music Awards. Swift and Cabello each earned four awards, with Kane Brown and Cardi B snagging three.
Swift opened the show and then proceeded to set a new record for the most wins ever by a female artist. Swift now claims 23 wins, surpassing previous record holder Whitney Houston’s 21.
Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross (black-ish), the AMAs were held on October 9, 2018. ABC broadcast the show which took place at the Microsoft Theater in LA. Among the artists who took the stage were Jennifer Lopez singing “Limitless,” Cardi B performing “I Like It,” and Ciara and Missy Elliott collaborating on “Level Up.”
