Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Presenters Announced

Critics Choice Movie AwardsThe Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are set to air Thursday, January 12, 2012 on VH1 and today the Broadcast Film Critics Association (of which I’m a member) announced who we can look forward to seeing present awards at the star-studded event. Leonardo DiCaprio and Olivia Harrison have been confirmed to present Martin Scorsese with the Critics’ Choice Music+Film Award, and there will be a special musical tribute from Bob Dylan during the awards show. Scorsese was chosen to receive this year’s Music+Film Award for his “brilliant use of source and original music” in feature films.

Sean Penn will be honored with the Joel Siegel Award for his humanitarian work, with Oscar winner George Clooney on board to present the award.


Additional presenters confirmed to appear at the 17th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards include Vin Diesel, Kirsten Dunst, Donald Glover, Dustin Hoffman, Mindy Kaling, Ben Kingsley, Diane Kruger, Melissa McCarthy, Elizabeth Olsen, Patton Oswalt, Paul Rudd, Maya Rudolph, Jason Segel and Owen Wilson.

The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are bestowed annually by the BFCA to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. The BFCA is the largest film critics organization in the United States and Canada, representing more than 250 television, radio and online critics. BFCA members are the primary source of information for today’s film going public. Eligible films were released in 2011.
