TVGN’s set to debut the new ‘reality sitcom’ Unusually Thicke starring Alan Thicke (Growing Pains) on April 16, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT. The new series will have a 14-episode season one run that will feature appearances by Thicke’s family and friends.

Singer Robin Thicke (Alan’s son) will stop by, as will David Hasselhoff, Bob Saget, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, John Stamos, Bill Maher, and Tom Green.

Unusually Thicke combines my two favorite things: family… and laughing at my family,” said Alan. “This series is my foray into the ‘reality-ish’ television world where viewers will meet the lovable, unpredictable, and often challenging people who live with the real Jason Seaver. We take our relatable real-life stories and blow them up to amuse and amaze, tossing in a handful of celebrity friends along the way. Please come aboard and enjoy the ride!”

“Alan’s real-life persona is just as likable, engaging and funny as the television characters he’s played over the years, and we’re excited to bring viewers an original reality sitcom featuring his real-life modern family,” said Brad Schwartz, President, Entertainment and Media, TVGN. “This is Alan Thicke in the role of his life.”

The Plot:

Unusually Thicke puts the spotlight on a real-life modern family—Alan, his beautiful, spicy and much-younger wife Tanya, and his dry witted, often opinionated 16-year-old son Carter—in a series that follows the fun and humor that happens in their everyday lives.
