Amber Heard has signed on to star in Run Away with Me, a romantic thriller to be directed by Fred Grivois (Through the Air, 15 Minutes of War). The casting announcement was made by Sentinel Pictures and XYZ Films, the production companies backing the project. Filming is expected to get underway later this year.
“Run Away with Me” is in the great tradition of movies such as Frantic and True Romance or more recently Taken, which is why it caught my attention in the first place. It is an ‘Action-romance’ story set in my hometown, Paris. A city famous for its beauty, that also hides a darker side. Run Away with Me is simple and realistic, raw and violent. It is about real people facing exceptional but true problems, and solving them the way any of us would… Or the way we wished we would,” explained director Grivois.
Grivois is directing from a screenplay by Matthew Ian Cirulnick (South Beach, Absentia). Adam Brawer and David Beitchman are producing and Nate Bolotind, Aram Tertzakian, and Raphaël Rocher are executive producing.
Amber Heard’s credits include Justice League, The Danish Girl, Adderrall Diaries, The Playboy Club, Never Back Down, Pineapple Express, and Magic Mike XXL. She recently finished work on Aquaman opposite Jason Momoa and London Fields with Jim Sturgess and Theo James.
The Plot: Run Away With Me centered on Tom and Kimberly (Amber Heard), two star-crossed lovers escaping the dark criminal underbelly of the European modeling industry. Tom, an American visiting Paris for his best friend’s bachelor party, falls for the beautiful, mysterious Kimberly. When Tom learns a surprising truth about her, his trip takes a lethal turn; the two embark on a riveting journey through Paris streets to start a new life together.
