HBO’s Animals continues its third season with four new episodes airing in September 2018. The adult animated series was created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano who serve as writers, directors, and executive producers on the HBO series. Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass, and Jen Roskind also executive produce the critically acclaimed series.

Among the actors lending their voices to season three are Awkwafina, Bob Balaban, Tom Bergeron, Kate Berlant, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Neil Casey, Marcia Clark, Steve Dildarian, Dinosaur Jr., Edie Falco, Jon Gabrus, and David Harbour.

Jared Harris, Mary Holland, Jameela Jamil, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jane Kaczmarek, Carol Kane, Johnny Knoxville, Lauren Lapkus, John Leguizamo, Donna Lewis, Lucy Liu, Natasha Lyonne, Anthony Mackie, Tatiana Maslany, Tim Meadows, Moby, Demi Moore, Tracy Morgan, John Mulaney, Princess Nokia, Aparna Nancherla, Tom Noonan, Soledad O’Brien, Cheri Oteri, Randall Park, Mel Rodriguez, Spencer Rothbell, Paul Rust, Amanda Seales, Michael Sheen, Jacob Tremblay, Aisha Tyler, and Joe Wengert are also involved as members of the season three guest cast.


The Plot: Animals. focuses on the downtrodden creatures native to Earth’s least-habitable environment: New York City. In its wide-ranging, wholly unique third season, the genre-bending series visits a humanless, post-apocalyptic Big Apple, blending live-action and animated segments, featuring the show’s usual eclectic casting.

  • Episode #26 (season 3, episode 6): “Episode Twenty-Six: At A Loss For Words When We Needed Them Most Or…The Rise and Fall of GrabBagVille.”
    Debut date: FRIDAY, SEPT. 7 (11:30 p.m.-midnight ET/PT)
    The “grabbags” – members of an interspecies group shunned by the rest of animal society – find themselves at the dawn of a new age when they are given the ability to communicate with one another, but ferret leader Yumi struggles to keep them all together. Meanwhile, geckos Phil and Mike plot to reclaim the aboveground.

    The animal community comes together for the trial of the century, as rats Phil and Mike debate the age-old question: Who is better, Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler?

  • Episode #28 (season 3, episode 8): “Episode Twenty-Eight: The Democratic People’s Republic of Kitty City”

    Estranged rat friends Phil and Mike are forced back together after a strange request sends them to the Democratic People’s Republic of Kitty City, a feline section of town cut off from the outside world. The trip causes them to reassess their issues and explore what they want for the future of New York’s animals.
