‘Ant-Man’ Sequel, ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ New Release Dates

Marvel just announced the release dates for phase three of their upcoming comic book-inspired films. First up, Ant-Man‘s sequel now has a confirmed title and release date. Ant-Man and the Wasp will arrive in theaters on July 6, 2018 and will feature Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne. As Marvel’s official announcement points out, Ant-Man and the Wasp marks the first Marvel Studios theatrical release with a heroine in the title.


The first Ant-Man movie starring Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Corey Stoll opened on July 17, 2015. Ant-Man made $57 million domestically over its opening weekend and has collected $409 million worldwide thus far during its theatrical run.

With Ant-Man‘s sequel now scheduled to come out on July 6, 2018, Black Panther has moved up to February 16, 2018. And, Captain Marvel will now open on March 8, 2019. The studio also revealed three untitled films have secured May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020 release dates.
