Blue Ivy Carter Makes History

Billboard’s reporting Beyonce and Jay-Z’s little girl, Blue Ivy Carter, has just set a new Billboard record. Just a few days after her birth, little baby Blue is now the “youngest person ever credited with gracing a Billboard chart.”

Within days of her birth on January 7th, Jay-Z recorded the very sentimental, touching “Glory” which was released with a “featuring B.I.C.” credit. Their song debuted at #74 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (dated Jan. 21) and, according to Nielsen BDS, has 1.7 million impressions on 54 radio stations (in case you’re really into stats).

And for those of you scratching your head over how Blue could have beaten Stevie Wonder’s daughter’s sweet little cries on “Isn’t She Lovely,” Billboard has an explanation. Wonder never officially credited her on the track and it didn’t make it onto a Billboard chart until she was two.
