The Hollywood Reporter says Thor star Chris Hemsworth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Charlie Day could be joining Ed Helms in Vacation to be directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. Goldstein and Daley also wrote the script for the comedy movie.

The New Line and Warner Bros production focuses on the character Rusty Griswold (Helms) who was first introduced in the 1983 comedy. Anthony Michael Hall played Rusty and Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo led the cast as his parents. Chase and D’Angelo are expected back in cameos. Christina Applegate is also on board to play Rusty’s wife. Hemsworth will be playing the husband of Rusty’s sister, Audrey, however, there’s no word yet on who will be playing Audrey.

Filming’s expected to begin next month.
