Christian Slater to Star in Mr Robot

USA Network’s signed up Christian Slater to star in Mr. Robot, a cyber-crime series from executive producers Niels Arden Oplev (Under the Dome), Chad Hamilton, Steve Golin (True Detective), and Sam Esmail. The new series will also star Rami Malek, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin and Martin Wallström.

Slater will play the title role.

Slater’s TV credits include Mind Games, Archer, Breaking In, Robot Chicken, The Forgotten, and My Own Worst Enemy.

The Plot:

Mr. Robot is a culturally resonant drama about a young programmer, Elliot, who suffers from a debilitating anti-social disorder and decides that he can only connect to people by hacking them. He wields his skills as a weapon to protect the people that he cares about. Elliot will find himself in the intersection between a cybersecurity firm he works for and the underworld organizations that are recruiting him to bring down corporate America.
