The Flash and Jane the Virgin Get Full Season Orders

This bit of news from The CW comes as no surprise whatsoever. The network’s confirmed today that both new shows Jane the Virgin and The Flash have received full-season orders. The Flash nabbed the most-watched premiere ever on The CW with 6.1 million viewers, while Jane the Virgin‘s premiere snagged the #1 spot in its time period compared to other shows over the past two years.

“We have had a fantastic start to our season this year, with The Flash launching as our most-watched series premiere ever, and Jane the Virgin recognized as the best new show this season by critics across the country,” said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. “Over the past three seasons, we have made it our mission to grow and to broaden out our audience, and to keep raising the bar with the quality and impact of our new shows, and The Flash and Jane have both exceeded our expectations on all counts. I’m thrilled to announce full season orders for both of these terrific new series.”

The cast of The Flash is led by Grant Gustin and includes Tom Cavanagh, Candice Patton, Jesse L Martin, Danielle Panabaker, and John Wesley Shipp. The show’s based on DC Entertainment characters and is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, David Nutter, and Sarah Schechter.
