‘Descendants: Wicked World’ Gets a Second Season

Disney’s renewed the animated short-form series Descendants: Wicked World for a second season set to debut this fall. Bradley Steven Perry has joined the cast as Zevon, the son of Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove. Also joining the cast in a recurring role is Lauryn McClain voicing Freddie, the daughter of The Princess and the Frog‘s Dr. Facilier. Returning cast members include Dove Cameron as Mal, Sofia Carson as Evie, Cameron Boyce as Carlos, Booboo Stewart as Jay, Mitchell Hope as Ben, Brenna D’Amico as Jane, Sarah Jeffery as Audrey, and Dianne Doan as Lonnie. Jennifer Veal voices Ally, Alice in Wonderland’s daughter, and Ursula Taherian voices Jordan, the daughter of Aladdin‘s Genie.


Descendants: Wicked World season one raked in over 30 million U.S. viewers, making the decision to renew the animated short-form series for a second season a no-brainer for Disney. Descendants fans can expect three new songs in addition to new characters when the second season arrives later this year on the Disney Channel, the Disney Channel app, YouTube, and VOD.

The second season is written by Scott Peterson and directed by Eric Fogel. Fogel and Carin Davis executive produce.

The Plot of Season One: The first season of Descendants: Wicked World followed fan-favorite Descendants characters Mal, Evie, Carlos, Jay as they tried to fit in at Auradon Prep. Season one will conclude on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT with “Neon Lights Ball,” a half-hour special that will feature six back-to-back episodes and introduce CJ, the daughter of Captain Hook. During “Neon Lights Ball,” fans will be given a taste of the mystery and excitement that will fuel the highly anticipated sequel movie Descendants 2, which will begin production in the coming months. Additionally, viewers can test their Descendants knowledge with Disney Channel Live Play, an interactive viewing experience featuring real-time trivia and polls via the Disney Channel app on iOS devices during the east and west coast telecasts.
