Evanna Lynch to Appear at LeakyCon 2011

Evanna Lynch, known to millions of Muggles as Luna Lovegood, will be joining actors from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (including Chris Rankin – ‘Percy Weasley’) for the Harry Potter fan convention: LeakyCon 2011.

From the press release:

The nine attending actors join special guests and keynote speakers including the internet phenomenon Team StarKid, whose members include Darren Criss (Glee), Brian Holden, Julia Albain and more; this group produced the wildly successful A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel and will be making a rare public performance. The event will also feature a rare live act from Neil Cicierega and his Potter Puppet Pals, the most popular Harry Potter-related YouTube content online, as well as a keynote from Arthur A. Levine, the American editor of the Harry Potter series, and Electronic Arts, producers of the popular video game based on the Potter films. These special guests will be available for signings, photos and special events.

“I’m so excited to be attending LeakyCon 2011 and spending the weekend with some of the world’s biggest Harry Potter fans,” Lynch said. “Especially as I am one of them!”

LeakyCon 2011 takes place at the Royal Pacific Resort in Orlando, FL, on July 13-17, with the Potter phenomenon’s most passionate fans.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime event for fans: a true celebration that gives the Harry Potter community one last, great party,” said Melissa Anelli, the conference’s organizer. “LeakyCon is the culmination of almost a decade and a half of community and charity, and aims to honor both.”

The conference, a charity event thrown by the fan Web site The Leaky Cauldron, will feature Harry Potter rock music, podcasts, literature panels, Quidditch games, full-length musicals, documentary premieres, and more. The group will also be throwing a private party inside the snowy walls of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area of Universal’s Islands of Adventure Theme Park.
