NBC unveiled a one-minute teaser for The Rockford Files with a hotline to call for updates on the new series. The teaser features series star David Boreanaz (SEAL Team) as private investigator Jim Rockford advertising his services.
The new one-hour series will premiere on January 2, 2027 at 5pm PT/8pm ET immediately after the network’s NFL broadcast. Season one moves to its normal Thursdays at 8pm ET/PT time slot on January 7.
“A contemporary update on the classic series of the same name. Newly paroled after doing time for a crime he didn’t commit, James Rockford returns to his life as a private investigator using his charm and wit to solve cases around Los Angeles,” reads NBC’s synopsis. “It doesn’t take long for his quest for legitimacy to land him squarely in the crosshairs of both local police and organized crime.”
The cast also includes Michaela McManus, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Jacki Weaver.
Mike Daniels is the writer and serves as executive producer along with Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, and David Hudgins.
