HBO Announces ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Five Premiere Date

Game of Thrones fans have just over three months to wait for the premiere of season five. HBO’s confirmed the fifth season premiere date is April 12, 2015, inline with previous seasons’ premiere dates. Game of Thrones season one debuted on April 17, 2011 followed by season two on April 1, 2012, season three on March 31, 2013, and season four on April 6, 2014.

The 10 episode fifth season will air on Sunday nights at 9pm ET/PT with Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kit Harington, Natalie Dormer, Maisie Williams, and Sophie Turner returning in starring roles.

HBO also announced Game of Thrones‘ premiere will be followed by the return of Silicon Valley at 10pm ET/PT. Silicon Valley‘s second season will consist of 10 half-hour episodes starring Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, and Martin Starr. Created by Mike Judge, John Altschuler, and Dave Krinsky, Silicon Valley‘s season one earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

Rounding out the Sunday night schedule, Veep with Julia Louis-Dreyfus will also be back on April 12th for season four, airing at 10:30pm ET/PT. Returning cast members include Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott, Timothy C. Simons, Sufe Bradshaw and Kevin Dunn.
