Garfunkel & Oates, American Storage Coming to IFC Network

IFC LogoIFC has just greenlit two projects, giving the new series Garfunkel & Oates a spot on the network’s 2014 lineup and American Storage a pilot order. Garfunkel & Oates, starring the comedy duo of Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci, will have a season one run of 10 thirty minute episodes. American Storage follows the friendship of a storage facility employee and the man who lives in one of the units.
 
“We are huge fans of Riki and Kate; their humor is fresh and accessible and they’ll be a great fit alongside The Spoils of Babylon, Portlandia, Maron and other shows on the horizon,” stated Jennifer Caserta, IFC’s president and general manager, announcing the new shows. “Everyone we work with shares our sensibility and passion for creating authentic comedies, and these new relationships will further complement our expanding roster of original programming.”

Garfunkel & Oates centers on the aspirations and misadventures of the female comedy-folk duo Riki Lindhome (Garfunkel) and Kate Micucci (Oates), and will spotlight the personal and professional lives of the duo whose career choices – singing satirical and sometimes dirty songs – leaves them with little in common with their peers, and no one but each other to turn to for support and understanding.

What happens when a straight-laced employee at a storage facility befriends the eccentric man he discovers living in one of the units? American Storage is based on the short film of the same name co-written by Andrew Jay Cohen (Neighbors) and Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors) and directed by Cohen.
